When it comes to size, the largest pizza recorded in 2010 was 121-feet in diameter. Calzones are usually made with sizes ranging from a handful to monster versions.     Ryan’s Pizzarelli House’s seemingly nondescript location did not stop Cebu’s foodies from finding this gem of a pizza place. Thanks to its regionally famous pizza and calzone, this pizza parlor is now a must-visit among those who have heard or read of the buzz created by none other than the RPH fanatics. RPH owner Ryan Yu takes inspiration from his favourite things like mixed martial arts – RPH’s delightfully-packed calzones are named with references to MMA. What makes RPH a good eat is the ‘quality and quantity’ of its Italian fare that blends well with the place’s humble set up of chairs and tables and a friendly photo wall.


    Ryan's Heavyweight Calzone lives up to its name. The calzone is so big, you can re-create the solar system on it. On one serving, you will find a generous amount of ham, mushrooms, bell peppers and onions. All these with a big splash of cheese."

    This was really cheesy (Gladiator Calzone). As soon as they served the slices, dribbles of cheese literally oozed out of the crust pockets. Pepperoni, ham, beef, mushroom, and chorizo filled this calzone – perhaps enough indeed to satiate a gladiator’s hunger. Again, I leaned towards its subtle blend of spicy, savory and sweet, making it my favorite calzone of the night."

    I’m not really a fan of pizza but I have these criteria on what a good pizza for me: thin crust, not oily, loads of toppings and cheese. Ryan’s pizza fits the bill perfectly. The bread alone also has a buttery taste to it, the cheesy taste does not overpower the texture and taste of other ingredients."
