    • Keeping Playtime Safe will be handled by Ms. Toni Tiu. This workshop highlights the importance of toy safety. Ms. Tiu is a communications planner/blogger about marriage, parenthood, and home and living, maintaining the hugely popular http://wifelysteps.com/
    • The Play Menu workshop will be handled by Australian nutritionist Ms. Kay Gibbons. This workshop will showcase the importance of the food intake in the active lifestyle of children.
    • Designing Safe Playspaces is good for moms and professionals who want to reduce or eliminate the possibility of accidents in the playroom. This will be handled by Marcus Veerman, an Australian jack-of-all-trades who has designed and built over 45 playgrounds with Go Play! His workshop will allow participants to manage risk thus allowing children to enjoy the area to its fullest extent.

      • Exhibits from toy designers, manufacturers and distributors showcasing the latest in toys, playground equipment, books and lots of other innovations:
      • TOY FAIR: A toy fair with over 50 booths, each featuring the latest tools and toys for active play.
      • BOOK FAIR: A veritable showcase of the latest and best titles covering play and child development.
      • CHILDREN'S NUTRITION FAIR: A sampling of healthy, delicious and nourishing food preparations for kids.

    Play Universal is a newly formed company which is passionate about promoting active play among children. Its mission is to promote, enrich and cultivate the benefits of play at home, in school and communities among Filipino children through its programs.


    Sigrid Sabarre Perez, the Executive Director of Play Pilipinas, is a former educator and school administrator, with experience in both traditional and progressive school systems. She is co-founder and lead volunteer of the children's cancer support organization Project: Brave Kids, and runs an advertising company with her husband Paul. A native of Cebu City, she holds a Humanities degree from the University of Asia and the Pacific, and has earned units towards a Masters degree in Family Life and Child Development from the University of the Philippines. She is the proud mother of eight children.
